When planning a renovation, it is easy to get caught up in the finishes, colours and furniture.

𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔?

A space to 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 the things you love.
A living room to 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.
A bedroom that 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧.
A bathroom designed around 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞.
A room where the kids can 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧, 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰.

For this 5-storey cluster home, every space was 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝, not just how the home would look, but 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝.

Because whether you are renovating a BTO, resale flat, condo or landed home in Singapore, your home should 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞.

It’s often not about having more space, it’s about 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝.

For this 5-storey home, each level was designed around a different part of everyday life.

The living, dining and kitchen on Level 1 were planned to connect naturally, while the master bedroom and bathroom were given their own zones for privacy and daily routines.

Even the kids’ room had to do more than just fit a bed, it needed space for 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞.

And with a living room, there is a glass sliding door that links to the basement and slides over to the display shelf when it is opened.

Because when you're renovating in Singapore, you don't always get the luxury of adding more square metres.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬: 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫?

What would you prioritise if you were planning your own home?

For this Level 2 master bedroom, the design was 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐞’𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, from getting ready in the morning to winding down at night.

The full-height headboard creates a strong focal point for the room, while the integrated lighting adds a softer feel when the main lights aren't needed.

With 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚, the room also keeps the practical parts of getting ready organised without taking away from the overall look.

Because a master bedroom isn't just where you sleep.

It's where your day starts, ends, and everything in between.

What would be a must-have in your dream master bedroom?

Instead of treating the living, dining and kitchen as separate spaces, the 𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 as you move through the home.

From the living area to the dining space, then towards the kitchen, each zone has its own purpose while still feeling like part of 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞.

And there are a few details that make this level more than just a pretty living room, including the 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 that separates the basement 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐬𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞.

A home can have different zones without making them feel disconnected.

Instead of leaving this level as an underused space, the basement was designed around something the 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲𝐬, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

With 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭-𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 and a layout that gives the collection its own space, the basement becomes more than just another level of the house.

It is a space that feels personal to the homeowner, while still being practical enough to actually use as a family.

With multiple floors and very different needs across the home, the challenge was not simply making each space look good, it was 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞.

From a dedicated basement for the homeowner's collectibles, to a living and dining area that flows into the kitchen, a master suite designed for two and a kid room that combines rest, study and storage, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝.

A home does not have to look the same from floor to floor. What matters is that 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞.

Which part of this home would you want to see more of? 🏡

It is easy to see the final photos and forget how much a space can change with the right layout, furniture, lighting and details.

And honestly, this is the fun part of renovation: seeing an empty space slowly becoming different with the ideal visual coming to life.

For this chiropractic clinic, we used different depths, built-in shelving, curves and lighting to give the walls more dimension, without making the space feel cluttered.

It is a simple idea that can work just as well at home, whether you are planning your HDB living room, TV area or entryway.

Would you prefer a layered feature wall or a clean, simple one?
