If your silver jewellery is looking a bit dull, you don’t need to deal with messy baking powder pastes, boiling water, or harsh chemicals that can damage delicate gemstones.
My preferred method is simple and completely mess-free: a high-quality jewellery cleaning cloth.
Living in Singapore’s tropical climate means humidity accelerates the tarnishing process. To keep your pieces looking brand new for longer, try these simple habits:
1. Store your clean jewellery in tiny, airtight Ziploc bags. Eliminating airflow is the number one way to stop oxidation.
2. Drop a silica gel packet (the ones that come in new shoes or bags) into your jewellery box. They act as natural dehumidifiers, absorbing moisture from the air.
3. Always put your jewellery on after your perfume, body lotion, and hairspray have completely dried, and take it off the moment you get home.
