蔡佩庭自建築系畢業後進入陶藝創作，將過去對結構、比例、空間與光影的理解，逐漸轉化為自己的創作語言。理性的幾何輪廓與粗獷的陶土表面並置，孔洞、裂痕、轉折，以及器物內外的空間，成為她作品中反覆出現的重要元素。
2021 年，蔡佩庭以作品《狹縫》入選臺灣陶藝獎創作獎。隔年的個展《光之嶼》中，她持續從建築經驗出發，透過陶藝創作思考人與空間之間的關係。
這次《小室微光》中，「光」直接成為作品的一部分。
壁燈如同微縮的建築，光從開口中透出；吊燈與桌燈則讓光穿過破裂的邊緣，照見陶土表面的壓痕、裂紋與粗糙質地。花器與物件也延續她對器物、雕塑與空間之間關係的思考。
展名中的 Cella，原指中世紀修道院裡供修士獨處、生活與祈禱的小房間。對蔡佩庭而言，自己的工作室也如同一間 Cella, 在一次次的塑形與燒製之中，建立屬於自己的空間，尋找到光進入心靈的方式。

Pei-Ting Tsai studied architecture before turning to ceramics. Her understanding of structure, proportion, space, and light has gradually developed into a distinctive visual language. Geometric forms are combined with the raw, tactile qualities of clay, while openings, cracks, folds, and the spaces within and around each object have become recurring elements in her work.
In Light in the Cella, light becomes an integral part of the work itself. The wall lamps resemble miniature architectural structures, with light filtering through their openings. In the pendant and table lamps, light emerges through fractured edges, revealing the pressed marks, fissures, and rugged textures of the clay. Her vessels and sculptural objects continue this exploration of the relationships between object, sculpture, and space.
The word Cella originally referred to a small room in a medieval monastery where a monk would live in solitude and prayer. For Tsai, her own studio has gradually come to serve a similar purpose. Through the repeated processes of shaping and firing clay, she has created a space of her own, while continuing to search for ways in which light can enter the inner world.
The exhibition opens on Saturday, September 12.
