Today we spent time on an art date at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati OH. This was an extraordinary space curated to tell the delicate story of those whose voices are systematically silenced.

Art dates are an essential part of my creative process. Taking time to indulge in spaces outside of my normal day to day routine gives me opportunity to access thoughts and ideas I'd possibly otherwise set on the back burner. This past Monday, we had an amazing class at the Highland Square Library as we kicked off our Art Series celebrating Black History Month! We began learning about influential Black artists and their impact on the art world.
