I seek raw-wood with rich color and dramatic, irresistible shapes (blowdowns, fire damaged, driftwood). My love of wood stems from a longtime interest in exploring the beauty, peace, solitude and challenges of nature and wild places. I have always approached and understood life and art with a broad view and a creative eye. In part, I think my outlook comes from a childhood that encouraged explorat
ion, having lived in many states and two countries (US & Ghana), from traveling in several countries, and from a varied employment history: farmer, taxidermist, nature and biomedical photographer, biology teacher, media department manager, computer sales, and more. My found-wood art has been a fundamental and exciting part of my creative life for many years.
