To say I was excited to design a green kitchen is an understatement! I was ecstatic that this client wanted green, earthy natural and something different than everyone else! The best part...we had so much fun creating this beautiful kitchen! Amazing clients are always the best part!
Attention to existing details, incorporating window locations and how each area is used was important to pulling this all together. We essentially opened this space up after removing the old cabinetry and being able to enjoy all of that plus the vaulted ceilings with beams was amazing to see unfold. We were certain to keep a good layout, similar to existing but added bonus of microwave off the counter and actual storage in the corner cabinets. The window seat area with cabinets on either side was a new addition to create a cozy eat-in kitchen area and storage for items not necessarily related to the kitchen. The mudroom/pantry area offers ample storage, great organization, a place to sit and of course an area to add a little decor.
The cabinets are Bertch in color Sage and the countertops are Silestone Concrete Pulse. The backsplash tile was an added bonus that complements the stonework of the fireplace in the adjacent room and adds a great textural, earthy vibe that we were going for.
The entire main level had new LVP installed. We made sure to select one that complimented the existing woodwork, beams and other wood tones in the space. All new appliances, fresh paint throughout and the addition of a light fixture over the peninsula and a cute little pendant over the window seat was a great finishing detail.
I have to admit sometimes kitchen renovations can present a challenge because you have to work with the space you are given. You must consider the work triangle, keeping plumbing and appliance locations easy, windows, doors, circulation...the whole thing! So, you should notice the great balance between windows, BUT the sink faucet could not be centered on window. As difficult as it was to accept, I still think it looks FANTASTIC!
