Black Cats Pottery

Black Cats Pottery Black Cats Pottery is a small pottery business which will post new pieces when available. I was lucky enough to go to an elementary school which taught pottery.

Ms. Melonis would have a unit each year, where we would spend about a month hand building items, glazing and then taking them home to show off to our family. For me, it was the highlight of each year in art, and after becoming an adult, I always wanted to get back to it. But it took years before I finally signed up for a pottery class, and found my way back to clay, and the joy of working on a whe

el in 2015. I have apprenticed for 2 different potters, was an artist-in-residence for a year, and now I teach pottery at Northampton Pottery, since 2020. I have work in several galleries, as well as doing craft fairs in Western MA and southern NJ. Black Cats Pottery was named because I have 4 black cats in my household. Black cats are the least likely to be adopted from shelters due to superstitions, and the most likely to be euthanized. So I've made it my goal to adopt black cats from now on so that they can live a life of leisure and happiness in our household. Sir Limpy is our figurehead; he passed away in 2019. But we still have Olivia, Salem, Pyewacket and Binx. Sir Limpy, Housepanther And Friends is a page, if you are interested in seeing the pampered life of our black cats.
