We have lots of wrens singing around the property every day 🥹💕
Harvesting mostly Feverfew, Yarrow, &
Snapdragons today!
Our main season will be July, August, September-but it feels so good to finally have some color starting back here! 🌸

Who is growing dahlias from seed this year?!

Only a small percentage of these will be keepers, so we have them planted super close together (way closer than our named variety field) & we will pull out anything we don’t love to make room for the rest of them to bloom 🌸

This is our 3rd year growing dahlias from seed, & 10th year growing named dahlias from tubers/cuttings, learning more and more every season!

Growing from seed takes up so much space for not a ton of useable blooms, but it is my favorite part to run out everyday and see what they look like- since they are all a surprise!

This year we are planting seedlings in their full own area right in our frontyard-can’t wait to see what we get!

*The chicken wire around this whole bed (to keep animals and children from stepping on them)

Love these so much! Wish we had 100s 😍🩵 but I’ll enjoy every second of all 4 plants 🤣 got to use a couple stems of these for something special today 💐

Always have to leave a few for the bees! 🐝
My mom likes to leave them all on the plant and I like to cut them and arrange even when we don’t have an order! 🤣
So we compromise with saving a few for the bees 🐝
💜 Today with the scabiosa: I made an elopement bouquet, a flower crown for my girls, and saved some for the bees. A win win win!
Had a tiny bit of extra time after weeding since it rained and we didn’t need to water anything! But omg these weeds! 😅
