Not every shower is a walk-in with a bench and two shower heads.

A lot of them are exactly this. A tight alcove, one door, barely enough width to swing it open.

And that's the space where people give up and reorder the same cheap sliding unit that was already there.

The puddle on the bathroom floor is not a mopping problem.

It's a sealing problem.

Water finds the gap. It runs down the outside of the glass, sits along the base of the door, works its way under the trim and into the subfloor. Six months later it's a soft spot, a warped baseboard, a bill nobody planned for.

Framed shower doors got a bad reputation, and honestly it was earned.

Thin silver aluminum. Yellowing plastic seals. That builder-grade look every rental had in 2004.
