As a design practitioner, this is what I think of this new “baroque” aka “broke” style. Loathe this approach in interior design, event design, and more. Though I love the thought of assemblage in fine and folk art, not so as it relates to the organized and purposeful arrangement of furnishings, lighting, and objets d’arts in an interior. OMGoodness! This sentiment is one that express with young designers and architects that are finishing school.

The senior/5th year portfolio that you so painstakingly work to graduate is not what you should be showing to firms to get hired! Many times programs are stuck in an unrealistic world that has no relation to the real design community and profession.

Take a month to work like a dog and bang out some work as if you were running your own firm. IJS.

Today is going to be an action-packed day for Mommy and me. We finished installing the foyer at the in yesterday and are ready for tonight’s “Mad for Pumpkins” tour that part of this year’s tour. Meanwhile back at the ranch, headed to Serenbe for a beautiful day. See you there.

When my friend and colleague reached out to see if I needed art for the suite we were for I leapt at the opportunity to feature .goldstein.art (again).
