Special orders of anything crocheted are accepted as well! Why are my blankets different than most? Their high-quality craftsmanship and design. I carefully design and create each afghan myself, delicately making it stitch by stitch using the softest, warmest yarn available. The result is a luxurious afghan that will be a favorite in your home for a very long time. My modern design schemes go grea
t with today's decor as well. You won't regret splurging on such a high quality throw that will last generations! When I was 15 years old, I spent a lot of time with my best friend at her house. One Christmas, she received an afghan, handmade by her grandmother. It was the prettiest lavender color, and you could tell by just looking at it that you could feel the love of her grandmother when you were under it. From that moment on I wanted to create afghans like that precious lavender afghan; I wanted people, whether I knew them or not, to feel love and comfort underneath handmade afghans made with my own hands. From there I decided to teach myself how to crochet. I had my dad take me to Walmart, and I bought a simple crochet needle and yarn. Over time I taught myself the basic stitches, and worked my way up to more complicated pieces. My first blanket, was in all honesty, a tragedy. I pictured that gorgeous lavender afghan, and somehow my version was hard, almost like sandpaper. Over the years I have kept up with my craft, waiting for it to become perfect enough to create the afghans I could see in my mind's eye. After years and years of practice, I finally created an afghan that I was proud to call my own work: a simple pastel pink and blue baby blanket. My first adult afghan was for my husband. He is in the U.S. Army, and I wanted him to have an afghan to use while he was away from home, whether it was in a tent in the forest for a field training excercise or in the deserts of Afghanistan. I wanted him to be able to feel my love even though we were miles apart, just like my best friend felt when she wrapped herself in her grandmother's afghan. I created it out of two colors of green and tan so that it would match his army gear. He loves his afghan so much, and it stays on our couch when he is home. I've never seen him take such care of an item before. From there my shop was born. I knew I could continue to make beautiful afghans as much as I wanted to, but where would they go? I couldn't just keep them all here in my own house! So I decided I would share them with the world, so that anyone could have a handmade afghan made with tender love and care. Since my shop has been open, I have developed my craft more and more. I started with simple afghans...straight lines, solid colors, etc. From there I have taken inspiration from everything around me to create afghans that represent all kinds of styles. The more I create, the more I want to design. Its a never ending cycle of creativity, and I absolutely love doing it! To see all my work, please visit my etsy shop:
