Last week, just shy of her 17th birthday, our sweet Loulie Jane went to heaven. It’s hard to put into words how much we miss her. Our house is way too quiet without her here.
Her sweet and spunky personality called for a true southern girl double name. She had a dozen nicknames, too—Lou Bird, Birdie, Janey Lou, LJ, Loulie Jane Mossy Pants- somehow they all fit.
She loved sunbathing, long snuggles, chasing after squirrels and sitting beside me in my office every afternoon. Rotisserie chicken was her absolute favorite treat. When Andy came on the scene, she made sure he pasted muster but once he did, they became best buds. Oh and she never wanted to miss a trip, she frequently packed herself into my suitcase so she wouldn’t be left behind.
She listened with her whole heart, tilting her little head as if every word mattered. Her big brown eyes would take it all in and if she had something to say she would definitely let you know it! If we were lucky, sometimes she would make a guest appearance on Instagram to let us know what she thought of the latest design.
Loulie made my life much bigger and brighter Christmas Eve 17 years ago, and she never left my side. I know she was sent to me to be my loyal companion. She was my heart.
We love you so much, Lou Bird, and will carry you in our hearts forever.
