That’s a lot of sites, right? Real people taking a risk—pushing past perfectionism paralysis and sharing what they have with the world.

Not too long ago, I was in a completely different field, totally intimidated by the world of websites. The tech-speak, toggling between editing windows to live design — it was just TOO MUCH.

Turns out, the website world has changed rapidly since then. Every site we build has a drag n’ drop interface and LIVE editing so you can see what you’re doing in real-time. Now, you can launch with a custom site you’re proud of AND can actually use. (Imagine that?)

Did the latest update to iPhone’s clock font ruin your holiday?? 👇🏻

Personally, the bold typeface for the clock font was NOT my fave. I didn’t last a day without googling how to change it. Similar to the iWatch faces, your Lock Screen actually is customizable and it’s pretty simple to ditch the bold numbers. If you haven’t sorted it out yet, here’s a few simple steps to get your design OCD back in check. 👍🏻

Did you know it takes more than half a year for a pearl to form? Once the irritant is in place, the process begins to make something beautiful, often taking up to 3 years to reach maturity.

Whether you’re designing a brand, building a business, a home, a marriage and a family; good things take time to grow. And grit… lots and lots of grit.

Whatever you’re facing, whether it’s another conversation, dishes in the sink, another zoom call or something in between — here’s your reminder: you have permission to slow down or take your time. Just like that pearl, something beautiful is being made.

Mara Davis, Atlanta’s Media Maven and all around good human being, re-launched her website on Wordpress.

After almost a decade online, Mara wanted an update to match her personal and professional style. A risk-taker to the core, Mara needed a design that was functional without being boring or stale.

This billboard site puts all her key content on one scrolling page without sacrificing creativity or her expertise.

Getting to work with an Atlanta staple like Mara was a “pinch-me” moment in this entrepreneurial adventure. Congrats to you, Mara. Can’t wait to see where this takes you.

Congratulations Anchor Bay on your custom Wordpress site launched last week! Having grown up going to the lake each summer, the brand and site refresh for this one hit close to home. Anchor Bay is a local marina serving Lake Martin since 1981. Owner, Jeb Staples came to us with a vision for Anchor Bay to continue being a family-friendly staple for Lake Martin visitors, yet embody a new modern spirit. Avoid the DIY look with this simple rule 👇🏻
Consistency is key. While it may be tempting to throw in a new font, or change one heading to a BIGGER size to make sure it doesn’t get lost, these pitfalls are the #1 reason your site is starting to look less professional.
See, our niche is designing custom sites our clients can actually USE. I’m extremely passionate about this promise and provide a 1-hour training on all our site packages to back it up. I believe websites are a critical tool to grow your business, one you should feel empowered to use, not afraid to break.
Even if we don’t create your branding, all our sites now come with a site style guide. This guide includes your brand color palette, font pairings, and how your design assets should be used. As the name implies, these choices are meant to guide future communications so your look is easily recognizable and memorable wherever used. Inconsistencies, even small ones, can end up looking like a mistake or subtly convey you’re unsure, or scattered leading your target audience away from you. While there may be exceptions, adopting a “less is more” approach will ultimately serve you the best.
