A few weeks ago I explored the beautiful city of Istanbul šŸ‡¹šŸ‡· with my husband. To say I loved it would be an understatement! In additional to exploring the vibrant and bustling Turkish culture — visiting this city gave me the perfect creative boost I’ve been yearning for! I’ve written my very first Substack about travel, inspiration and the city of Istanbul ✨ ettavee.substack.com

Many of you have noticed my watercolor mosaic series. These mosaics are inspired by the colorful mosaic lamp shops all over Istanbul. The jewel-toned colors & warm glow just makes my heart sing! Swipe to see these beauties and to see a little bit of what I’ve been working on. I’ll be releasing the to my newsletter subscribers next Friday, March 20th!! ✨ Artist confession: I have piles of paintings and sketches that have always been destined to become beautiful licensable pattern & designs; to make the lovely products you all love!!

However, they somehow never quite made it into my scanner and into my design programs to become the beautiful patterns I know they’re destined to be!

So I’ve made a promise to myself to take one piece once a week from one of these glorious piles of artwork (swipe to see one) and to (at the very least) scan it and add it to my portfolio. Bonus points if I make a repeat pattern with it! I must say, I’m already loving how it’s going. Swipe to see more!! šŸ‹ Now available for licensing chez

As a working artist, sometimes we’re asked to make art even when we don’t necessarily feel ā€œinspiredā€. I find there’s nothing quite like a trip to a new culture to awaken creativity! My husband and I hopped over to Istanbul a couple of weeks ago and I feel like my color sensors are rejuvenated after a long gray winter in Alsace🧔 This week will be busy with making NEW art of various kinds. I can’t wait to share! I’m curious, what’s a place you’ve visited that you felt awakened your senses?

While designing new Valentine’s art, I took a dive 🤿 into my portfolio to see what kind of existing Valentine’s artwork I have! I came across this batch of whimsical fish I painted while in Italy a couple of summer ago šŸŸšŸ’› I do believe this first design exists as a greeting card, but I’ll need to check and see exactly where it’s being sold! Stay tuned!

🌼 Loves! My NEW Virtual Live Painting Class is open for registration! This Valentine’s Day we’ll come together to paint the sunny & effervescent Mimosa Flower!

The Mimosa is personally one of my favourite flowers as it’s known for its resilience. It blooms right in the middle of winter, offering these soft but vibrant pops of yellow when everything else feels quiet and gray.Ā That’s exactly why I’ve been so drawn to painting the Mimosa flower lately. 🌼
Ā
Ā As I painted this piece, I kept coming back to that idea. Strength doesn’t have to be loud. It can be soft. It can be playful. It can show up simply by continuing on. šŸ’›
Ā
This virtual class takes place Saturday, February 14th. Early Bird Pricing is available until February 9th and 12 month access to the video replay is included. This means you can revisit this project again and again when convenient for you. Also, I’ll be using my EttaVee x acrylic paints in this class to show you what they can do! Hope to see you there!

2026 is the new 2016? Ok, I’ll play along!! šŸ˜

Ten years ago, Paris was my playground. I left my agency job and it was my first year out on my own running EttaVee full-time. It was a time of exploration, inspiration, slinging mud to see what sticks and HARD work to try and grow my business into the BRAND I had dreamed of & BELIEVED I could build!

I tried any and everything and learned many many lessons. The first photo is from an Etsy Christmas market where I barely sold anything and was considering giving up on my dream. I knew I had a little one on the way, and that alone gave me the drive to keep going. I’m SO thankful I did because the following year everything changed for my little EttaVee brand & for my life šŸ’– I’m hoping to capture a little more of that 2016 magic in 2026!

šŸ’› The Mimosa Flower is known for its resilience because it flowers in the winter. There’s a beautiful village in the south of France called Bourmes les Mimosas where the entire village blooms with these sunny flowers during the month of February. Bringing vibrant color (soft but strong) in the cool winter. I sat with this message of resilience as I painted today and now when I look at the finished art, it feels like a kind reminder to stay strong. I’m going to hang a Mimosa painting in my workspace as a daily reminder! šŸ’› Swipe to see more of this beautiful bloom.

šŸ“ Last week, I shared some new artwork I’ve been creating for my portfolio. Here’s another peek at something I’ve been dreaming up for the EttaVee brand - festive party supplies!! I created this mockup using existing art from my portfolio. Creating product mockups using my artwork is the perfect way to show brands how to use/ play with my artwork (like the strawberry balloon for example)😊

This was so fun to put together. Looking forward to creating more collections!
