It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mohamad Gavahi, a cherished husband, father, and friend, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Esfahan, Iran, Mohamad immigrated to America with a dream and unwavering determination to create a better future for his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to Manijeh and a proud father to his two daughters, Noushin and Nazanin. Mohamad not only paved the way for his daughters to build the life he dreamed of for them, but he also instilled in them the values of hard work, generosity, and a deep commitment to their roots.
A master of his craft, Mohamad built a legacy through his passion for Persian rugs and antiques. With a discerning eye and reverence for tradition, he spent decades curating and restoring pieces that told stories of culture, craftsmanship, and history. As the heart and soul of Atlanta Fine Rugs and Antiques, Mohamad poured his artistry and integrity into every corner of the business, earning the trust and admiration of collectors, designers, and friends around the world. His dedication wasn’t just to the items themselves, but to preserving a legacy—one knot, one weave, one relationship at a time.
Mohamad found joy in the simple things—whether it was the soothing sounds of nature, the warmth of the sun on his face, or the peaceful view of the river from his backyard. He cherished these small moments, finding comfort in the rhythms of life and the beauty of the everyday. His generosity was limitless, always ready to lend a hand or offer his wisdom to those around him. His kindness, deep insight, and infectious love for life touched everyone he met, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and family.
Although his physical presence will be deeply missed, Mohamad’s spirit will live on through his family and the grandchild he was eagerly anticipating in October, along with all those whose lives he touched.
