My clients often say to me, “Your house must be ✨️spotless✨️ all the time!”
I assure you it’s not.
Dusting furniture is pretty far down the list when life starts life-ing. The grout in the shower often has to take a back seat to more pressing matters.
What my house IS is organized.
Everything has a place. I may not have time to deep clean as often as I would like, but daily tidying is manageable because putting things away is simple.
And when I do have time for a deep clean, I can spend more time on things like baseboards because the simple tidying tasks are done already.
The key to a clean home is a home that is easy to clean, and a home that’s easy to clean is organized and decluttered regularly.

My grandmother Elizabeth liked a little bit of 💎fancy💎 - little perfumes, little sweet treats, little sparkly things. She could always find little bits of luxury in sometimes less-than-luxurious circumstances and I loved that about her. I'm a bit too casual to rock her costume jewelry, but I couldn't let it become clutter in my jewelry box, so some of the pieces are framed in shadowboxes as art. I get to remember her every time I walk past the dresser, so why would I want to hide these in a box?
We don't need to take the entire house full of furniture and a lifetime of possessions into our own homes to honor loved ones who have passed. It's ok to select a few things that represent what we loved about them and let the rest go. There's a difference between things we can't part with out of a sense of obligation and things we hold onto because we enjoy them.

We tend to let our identities become tied to objects. The objects we keep in our homes can remind us of our best times (and our not-so-best times 🫣), the people we were and wanted to be, and the people we love. But we cannot lose sight of the most important person: the one who exists in the present. And that person deserves space to evolve and grow.

It's time to clear that clutter! 🧹 Beginning today, March 9, collection fees will be waived for oversized yard debris and other bulky items during Trash Amnesty 2026.

Please keep these guidelines in mind when putting out materials for collection:
🙅 No household garbage allowed. Please stick to yard waste, appliances and other bulky items only.
📫 Place your debris in a singular pile at the curb, at least three feet from mailboxes or other fixed objects.
⏲️ Make sure items are out by 6 a.m. on your collection day.
🍂 Bundle or bag items to keep them out of the street.
🌳 Break down limbs and other debris so they're shorter than 5 feet.

Trash Amnesty 2026 will run March 9-April 3. Please keep in mind that you may experience a delay in your normal collection schedule because of the large volume of pickup expected over the next few weeks.
