“Kara listened to our vision for our small kitchen and got an idea of who we are—artists, collectors of funky old things, maximalist, eclectic and lovers of color! She gave us a plan that included paint colors, new light fixtures and other solutions—while retaining the overall character of the room. The most remarkable change Kara proposed was replacing the wood-paneled “pony wall” between the kitchen and living room with tile. Suddenly a random dark wall became part of the party and the eat-in kitchen became a cool diner! When we wanted to swap out the tile design she chose with something that was even more “us” (flower power!), Kara was easy to connect with. She offered her advice as we tweaked some details. The paint colors Kara chose and the light fixtures were things I’d never have chosen. That’s why she’s a great designer! She sees possibility where we could not. I am so glad we hired Kara and got her great eye to help us make our kitchen feel like a place to gather for good cheer!”
