Last weekend the hubs and I took a little ride out to Barley Time in Danville Indiana. The food and b**r from this local brewery was outstanding! Our sever Tessa and the atmosphere out on the patio in the fall just made this worth making a post. Highly recommend!

COME JOIN ME AT THE PLAINFIELD LIBRARY!! October 3rd, 2026 10am-1pm.
We will be laying out and sewing the blocks made on September 12th for donation to Blazer 88 in support of our Veterans.
What to bring: sewing machine, scrap red white and blue fabric, a Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer (1/2” size), and 108 wide backing fabric to donate for the backs.

If you are interested in sewing and quilting and want to learn you are more than welcome to join us.

We had a small turn out of quilters but wow they really knocked it out of the park!! We had so much fun we forgot to get pictures. Oh well 😢. We got 256 half square triangles made and everyone took home another stack to sew at home. We have committed to getting together again on October 3rd so if you didn’t get a chance to join in you are welcome. We still have to layout the blocks and sew them together.

Quilting for Veterans event is Saturday!!!!
I’m so psyched that this is really coming together!!
-There will be a cart at the door so we can load up your sewing machines/gear, and help you bring them up the elevator at the library.
-We now have the printouts of how to make the quilts (in case this is new for you, or you need a refresher. 😎
-And, most importantly…..I’m very close to obtaining a donation of some amazing cinnamon sour dough bread and cream cheese by a local bakery. Yum! I sure hope this comes through. 🙏
-The blessings just keep coming in!! Thank you Crystal Crews for your generous donation of red 10” squares.
-Modern Edge Quilting LLC has donated 100 ten inch squares and three yards of white fabric!!!

I’ve been having fun in my spare time making these super cute 9” finished animal blocks by Quilts and Nice Stuff. I really love how easy the patterns are to follow and how absolutely cute they turn out. I just cut out and made one block at a time and made sure to label them. (I just used scrap paper and jotted down the letter, but you could get labels from an office supply store and that would probably look nicer. I was just so excited to get started I used what I had on hand.)
