I am almost 53 years old and have been obsessed with the sun for the majority of my years. My skin can definitely tell the story of many years applying baby oil, using a reflective mat (you know, the one you get out of an emergency first aid kit 🤣) and just simply basking for hours in the hot sun…not to mention my tanning booth addiction (I have quit that 🫣) and my floating in the pool addiction (not ever quitting that!). A few weeks ago we returned from a Florida trip and I began looking for a product that could combat and eliminate my dry, crepey, sun battered skin. I found a few that I liked, however, they are astronomically expensive, and my ever wandering mind went wandering….After researching and looking at different product ingredients and their properties,I decided to try and replicate my own. I do have to say, however, I understand the price points after sourcing out the different oils. There is a lot to be said about making sure they are high quality, organic, and cold pressed. Needless to say, you get what you pay for. For the super scientific (okay, maybe a little over the top) concoction I created, I chose the following ingredients, along with the reason why:
Carrier Oils:
Sweet Almond Oil ~ Nourishes and softens dry or aging skin.
Rosehip Seed Oil ~ Collagen-boosting, evens skin tone.
Evening Primrose Oil~Increases elasticity and hydration.
Vitamin E Oil ~ Antioxidant, barrier repair. A little bonus with vitamin E oil is it also extends the shelf life of the body oil.
Essential Oils:
Geranium Oil ~ Firms skin and improves tone.
Patchouli Oil ~ Stimulates collagen production
Lavender Oil ~ Soothes Skin and reduces inflammation.
Ylang Ylang Oil ~ Calming and relaxation properties. (Also used in high end perfumes and body products…winning).
I have used this product for about 5 days, and, I love it. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy residue and leaves my skin hydrated and not itchy.
All oils used are 100% natural/organic and FDA approved.
Not for consumption!!
I am selling them in 2 oz glass bottles for $30. DM me if you are interested. Thank you!
