Hey everyone! We're doing a pre-order for Easter goodies! 🐰 As I mentioned the other day, our goal for Sunnie & Bud's Farmstand is to help families in need who are battling cancer. We hoped to start this little project in the summer, but we recently learned that one of the families we planned to support needs help now.

His name is Andrew Juan, and he's only 18 years old. He's fighting a rare stage 4 cancer called sarcoma. The doctors told him he would only live 1-2 months without treatment, and 1-2 years with treatment. Due to some circumstances, he doesn't have health insurance, and the hospital is either denying him treatment or he and his family have to pay for it 100% out of pocket. If you're unable to buy Easter goodies to support Andrew, please pray for him and his family during this time.

New name for The Rustic Barn Co. and new goals! 🎉🤍

Hey everyone! This is Brittney Mills, the owner of The Rustic Barn Co. As many of you know, I hope to open a small farmstand this summer offering fresh vegetables, flowers, cookies, and bread! It's been a dream of mine, and since my focus is mainly on our farm right now, I thought this would be the perfect year to open it. Recently, while working the soil to prepare for summer, I had an idea: to donate 100% of the weekend's income to a family or hospital in memory or honor of someone special, once a month. You know that kind of thought that will not go away? Then I started thinking about all the what-ifs—what if it doesn't do well? What if we only raise $5 for these families? Then I felt a nudge to just try it, and that's exactly what we're going to do! I believe we're called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and I'm both excited and a little scared about this. I've never asked anyone to pray over our garden before, but I will this year. Please pray that it yields well so we can support two amazing families that are currently fighting cancer, as well as donate to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in honor of a sweet little girl, and to Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center in memory of my momma. Most importantly, pray for these families.

We will let everyone know which weekend will be donation weekends and which family or hospital will receive all the proceeds. To clarify, I am not taking any money myself; 100% will go to the families or the hospital. As many of you know, cancer affected my family several years ago, so families battling cancer will always be in my heart. We pray for each of these families, past and present. The families we'll be supporting are—Brett Bush and family, Brandy Andres’ nephew Andrew, Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in honor of Chloe S., and Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center in memory of Phyllis Brewington. We'll share their stories and the specific weekends closer to the time.

I’ll be honest, I’ve dreaded making this post! Last week, we closed a chapter in our lives much sooner than I had planned. I intended to stay at the vendor store until at least December or longer. However, our plans and God’s plans don’t always match.

A few weeks ago, my laser tube went out, and after I bought a new one, my computer decided to quit working. The computer I need to run my program is quite expensive, and I couldn’t justify spending that amount of money, especially since I would be closing the doors anyway in December.

So, we held a summer blowout sale, and you all bought everything out within 2-3 days! That was amazing! After that, I picked up all my staging décor, and on my way out of that little shop, I felt like God was saying “Hey, I have big plans for you!” Even though I don’t completely see them now, I do slightly see exciting and a little bit scary things in Corey and my future. We know God holds tomorrow!

Thank you so much for all the incredible years! This little business helped me get through two of the darkest times in my life, and for that, I'll forever be grateful!

So, yep as of now I am officially a full-time farmhand with absolutely no pay! 🤣

Big Changes and a Heartfelt “See You Later!”

Wow! After 7 amazing years this June, it’s time for me to take a step back from The Rustic Barn Co. As many of you know, following the tractor accident, we’ve faced some really big changes. Although I absolutely love creating and making new items, it’s time for me to take a complete break to focus on my two not-so-little girls and our family farm.

I’m not saying this is goodbye—just a “see you later.” We will continue to add new items to the vendor store in Livingston until December, and we will decide then whether to continue that.

I want to take a moment to say thank you! Thank you for 7 incredible years! This journey started as a side gig to help me cope with the loss of my mama. After several years of juggling two full-time jobs, I took a giant, scary leap to make this little business my only full-time job, and let me tell ya, that was a scary decision, but where God guides, He provides! This little business has fed tiny mouths, taken us on unforgettable trips, helped me through two of the darkest times in my life, and, most importantly, allowed me to love people by giving!

So, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. Without you, this dream would have never been possible!

We didn’t take custom orders for our pencil door hangers, but my niece made a special request, and of course, we couldn’t say no! She asked for a purple pencil and a pink bow! 😍

Some of our best friends adopted their forever son last week, so we had to make him a little something! 🤍🐄

Side note: As of a year ago, we do not take custom orders. This was made for my “nephew.”
These are not available for purchase. They were too cute not to share.

First off, I want to say a huge THANK YOU for the incredible support we received this week during our door hanger sale to help get a momma to the Mayo Clinic. You all are amazing, and you will never know how much this means to the family! We sold 28 door hangers, which brings our total to $700. Additionally, several people reached out to ask how they could send money to the family. -If you'd like to give to this sweet family, we will leave the link in the comments to her post.

If you purchased a door hanger, we will send out pickup information on Tuesday! 🎉

Also, if you know a Mrs. Johnson, please send her our way! We would love to give her a door hanger for her classroom. 🤍 ((found one!!)) Thank you!

We have a very dear friend who needs a little help with medical bills and getting her mama to the Mayo Clinic out of state. We believe we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Therefore, we will be holding a sale on these larger, personalized, super cute pencil door hangers until Thursday!

All proceeds, 100%, will go directly to the family. Each door hanger is $25, and you can also add a bow in your school colors! The bow will be made from whatever materials we have in stock that match your school colors. Thank you for your support!
