My name is Kari. I'm a social worker and a longtime collector of one-of-a-kind old things.
I love connecting with history through tangible things. I imagine the social history a piece has lived through, and the lives of the people who spent time with it.
In a world overwhelmed by fast fashion and planned obsolescence, finding timeless pieces takes... time. I'm drawn to solid old-growth hardwood, fine filigree, and high-quality materials — the kind made back when craftsmanship wasn't dictated by profit margins alone.
I've spent years in small towns and roadside antique stores, estate sales and second-hand shops. I'm a sucker for jade, bakelite, thick leather, brass, silk, linen, pure cotton, furs (only the old ones), and the fine details on anything that took real time to create.
