When we started this camping adventure 20 some years ago if you would have asked me if I ever thought we would drag our camper across 2 state lines to camp for Memorial Day weekend I would have told you never in a million years would that ever happen. Flash forward and here we are boondocking at Sand Creek Wyoming. I am thankful, blessed and utterly amazed I turned my FarmBoy into a camping adventurer!!!

There are allot of versions of me and the one Y’lL know the best is the crafty, artist Farm Girl. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that version of me. I haven’t had the inspiration to be crafty since I closed the store. It’s like a part of me died. About 8 months ago I had the urge to make something with my hands. I built the loom and wove the rug. It’s not perfect and it took me a really, really long time but I’m proud of me. I’m proud I had the balls to try something again. I’m proud that I woke that girl up inside of me that’s been sleeping, she’s been hiding in the dark waiting to come back to life. Not sure when she’ll make another appearance but I’m gonna love her while she’s here.

What’s trip to South Dakota without stopping at a couple of Fire Departments..?… We stopped at the Hot Springs and Deadwood Fire Department’s and got a personal tour from the Chief of the Deadwood FD. It was awesome to learn out how their volunteer FD works and to see their trucks and learn how & why they have the equipment they do. It was probably the highlight of our latest trip.

POVIT….the time has come to pivot this account. I have been hanging onto Y’lL and I appreciate everyone who has stayed with me after closing the store. FarmGirlJunk just does not serve me anymore, and it’s time for a new adventure, hence the new FarmGirlAdventures name. Plus, that’s really what I have been doing. Whether it’s Truck Pulling, Camping, SxS adventures, it’s what life is all about right now. So hold on tight and enjoy the ride.
