I ride horses and have the most difficult time finding socks that are tall enough for my boots and sturdy enough to be worn frequently. And having a little color that isn’t just plain white or black or grey is also nice. These took a little doing and I probably won’t use the same yarn or needle combo again because I’m not thrilled about the stitch spacing this go round, but I have nice strong, breathable socks to ride in

Sorry for the lack of posts as of late. My dog decided to shatter her femur playing outside and we are in full swing of mud season at the ranch. I will say that I started my first crochet project in a LONG time though!

Yes, I did in fact finish these socks. They are SO SOFT but I am disappointed in the tension issues that dogged me the entire time I worked those dang heels. The good news is that the socks fit. The bad news? They probably will only ever fit me, or someone with smaller feet than me. Lessons learned, and on to better things I suppose

Working this pair of socks has taught me a LOT about interlach knitting. I am learning gradually how to hide strands and carry them, but I know for this pair I will have to go through with a darning needle and try to tuck in the pesky ones that want to pop out. I also did my usual procedure of putting one sock on some cable needles so I can focus only one of them at a time when turning the heel.

This new toe up pair of socks has its challenges, the main one being managing four strands of yarn on two skeins, at the same time. Making progress though!
