Texture is one of the most powerful tools in design—it adds warmth, depth, and a sense of intention. This new build kitchen is a perfect example of how mixing materials can make a space feel both elevated and inviting.

From the soft faux velvet counter-stools that beg you to linger, to the grounding concrete pendants and dining table, every texture was chosen to balance beauty with function. We layered in organic wood accents for warmth and added touches of greenery to soften and bring life to the space—all thoughtfully chosen to complement and enhance the timeless luxury of the client’s marble surfaces.

Easter Weekend is Around the Corner! ✨

Setting a beautiful table doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are a few simple tips to create a welcoming Easter spread:

Layer Your Plates – Mixing sizes and textures adds depth and interest to each setting. Try a darker base plate with a lighter top plate for contrast.

Go Neutral with a Pop – A soft, neutral runner paired with elegant glassware and moody plates gives you a classic base. Add in a floral arrangement for a seasonal touch.

Add Greenery – A centerpiece with fresh or faux greenery and white blooms (like lilies or hydrangeas) gives a clean, fresh look without being over the top.

Welcome to Layden Home & Design! I’m Lindsay Layden, the founder and principal designer, and I’m thrilled to officially introduce myself. Launching this business has been a dream over a decade in the making, and I’m beyond grateful for the incredible support we’ve received since our soft launch. The journey has been amazing, and I can’t wait to see how we grow and the beautiful spaces we’ll create together in the years ahead.

A little about me—first and foremost, I’m a wife and a proud mom to three little ones (ages 6, 4, and 1). My husband and I are total foodies (we may or may not have a secret food review account—shhh!). Beyond interior design, I have a deep passion for floral design and love incorporating fresh and faux arrangements into my projects to bring life into every space. Travel is another love of mine—my husband and I have spent months exploring Europe, especially Ireland and France, and we’re just now starting to adventure again with our kids in tow.

The past seven months have been an incredible start to Layden Home & Design, and I’m so grateful for your support! If you love beautiful, functional, and thoughtfully designed spaces, I’d love for you to follow along, share our posts, and spread the word. Let’s create something amazing together!
