I’ve been thinking about owls a lot since last spring when a Great Horned Owl family nested at the end of our street. Every morning, photographers would show up to take pictures of the little baby owls and their parents. So cute!
Sadly, though, the baby owls died after they fledged the nest, because they ate wildlife that had ingested rat poison. it’s the circle of life in a bad way, w humans in the middle, messing up natural predators.

Groups like are trying to educate people about the downside of using poisons in our environment.
This art was inspired by a photo by MJ Keeler.
If you look closely there is a lot to see in this piece. Angels, animals, faces, and messages from the cards that were used to create it.

It’s Marathon weekend in Boston! Good luck to all the runners! I created this piece for an art show celebrating the marathon. It includes many famous runners and one not-so-famous (me, in 2014). A perfect gift for anyone who has been crazy enough to do this race!

Opening day at Fenway Park! Honoring the 1986 pennant winning Red Sox —including my favorite Jim Rice who was there today- and who is in my collage. This art is a best seller- and includes so many famous Red Sox players from Babe Ruth to the 2018 World Series team. Maybe I’ll add some players from 2026?? This could be the year.

Well I have wrapped up my artist residency at Greywood Arts in Killeagh, County Cork. I am so grateful to Jessica Bonenfant and Hughey Coogan (and all their helpers) who have created this magical place. I had a gorgeous studio, delightful surroundings, other artists to connect to, and a warm welcoming environment to completely focus on making art. I really buckled down, worked so many hours, and am bringing home many pieces that I hope to finish in my studio at home.
I was also able to get up to Galway to row in the 50th Tribesmen Head of the River Regatta with my crew from . What a dream to connect rowing and Ireland! 🇮🇪
I was also able to visit some relatives and find out more about my grandparents.
What an incredible experience! I am in Dublin now waiting for my husband to arrive for a final weekend. I’ll be happy to get home but so glad to have had this opportunity to meld all my favorite things- art, rowing, Ireland, and Guinness!! Thanks for coming along! Xxoo

I thought I would give you a little tour of the town Killeagh where Greywood Art Residency is located. The building is a former police barracks built in 1767 and now has many artist studios, and several bedrooms where artists can stay. The building was renovated and the center was created by a married couple Jessica and Hughie Coogan who live here with 2 dogs, 4 cats, 2 ducks, 2 goats, and 4ish chickens.
Killeagh is a sweet town with a river running through it, two pubs, a couple restaurants, 2 coffee shops, a grocer, a church, a community center, and a bike path/rail trail that connects with Midleton and Youghal. It’s in East Cork. The town is currently famous bc a single came out last year called “Killeagh” by a local band Kingfishr about the hurling team and it rocketed to #1 on the charts.
There is also a wooded conservation land called Glenbower wood with old moss covered trees and great trails.
I’m in a simple bedroom and my assigned studio space is on the top floor— it’s huge and gets plenty of light and I feel like I am in La Boheme.
So far so good-really grateful to be here! I actually went for a plunge in the ocean today. The beach is pretty close and there is a sauna. Stay tuned for more adventures.

Hey I’m in Ireland! I managed to squeeze in a short road trip before my art residency starts. I drove from Dublin to Mayo to see some family (so fun) , then all the way down to Di**le for some spectacular scenery and inspiration. Next I’m headed to Cork to start my residency at Greywood Arts. Some scenes from the road trip!

Happy VD! Finally the endless barrage of hearts, chocolates, and jewelry ads will disappear. However, there’s one symbol of love that doesn’t disappoint: the iconic LOVE Statue.
Located in the heart of JFK Plaza in Philadelphia, this statue is not only a landmark but also one of the most photographed spots in the city. Created by American artist Robert Indiana, the LOVE statue was installed in the park in 1976 to commemorate the nation’s bicentennial. It’s an excellent symbol of the City of Brotherly and Sisterly Love.

The LOVE statue is also a popular backdrop for marriage proposals! My version, Philly LOVE, makes a great wedding gift or memento for anyone who loves the city.

Doesn’t winter just drag? To keep my spirits up, I’ve been in the studio working on lilacs. Here are a few images of the process. I started this piece when the lilacs were bursting in bloom in my yard but put it aside- it’s way more fun to work on it during the cold to remind me that spring will return eventually.

Sometimes when I’m working in my studio, a card just stops me in my tracks. Happy Valentine’s Day Daddy, Love Catherine. I don’t know who gave this card to their dad, but he’s a lucky guy. I love finding these messages as I cut and paste!
