A young trainee doctor aspiring to become an expert neurosurgeon, Dr. Tatsuki Oishi, visited the Asakusa Studio to meet Taro Yaguchi!

Dr. Oishi creates miniature origami cranes using surgical instruments. In his search for an effective way to train for neurosurgical procedures—which demand exceptional technical skill, concentration, and mental discipline—he discovered origami as a valuable practice method.

With future patients in mind, he crafts microscale origami works that reflect both remarkable technical precision and a dedicated spirit. Check out these extraordinary creations on his instagram:

During his visit to the studio, he and Taro Yaguchi exchanged insights and information about paper materials and philosophical meaning of origami.
