Well friends… she’s officially complete.

After the whole AI pattern—just “shape it correctly” adventure (we’re not revisiting that chapter here, but I will post more about that later 😂), I trusted my instincts, kept stitching, and let Florence become who she wanted to be.

And look at her now.

Soft, sweet, a little sassy, and absolutely ready for her new home.

Her wings fluffed just right.

Her legs giving full flamingo elegance.

Her personality? Off the charts.

I think she turned out pretty perfect. Say hello to Florence the Flamingo.

Remember that AI pattern disaster I mentioned?

The seller finally responded and told me the project “only works if you shape it correctly.”

Which was fascinating, considering the pattern never mentioned shaping at all.

So I did what any stubborn crocheter would do:
I started making my own version instead.

And honestly? It’s coming together beautifully. Whatcha think?

Pardon me while I have a full‑on meltdown…

I paid $5 for a pattern that turned out to be AI. The pattern will never produce the item in the photo — not even close. 😮‍💨

I’m so mad I fell for it.

Now I have to explain to my client that the photo they sent me was AI‑generated, and the pattern sold with it was completely unusable.

I need to rest, regroup, and figure out my next move…

Do I redesign the AI pattern?
Buy a real one?
Write my own?
Or just not make this one at all?

I’m frustrated. I’m tired. And scammers seriously suck. 😮‍💨

I’m working through a slew of orders, at a much slower pace than before. Since being ill earlier in the year, the emotions are big and sometimes uncontrollable — and this little project almost took me out. Truly… almost out of the hobby.

At one point, I cut everything off her face except the eyes and her little tuft of hair. That’s how serious the battle was.

But meet my Marie‑Cat Lovey — the tiny sweetheart who nearly broke me as a crafter. There were tears over the ears, negotiations with yarn, and at least one moment where I questioned every decision I made in creating her.

And yet… look at her now. Soft, sweet, sleepy, and ready for all the snuggles.

Handmade with love, sweat, and tears (and maybe a few dramatic sighs).

I’m working through a slew of orders, at a much slower pace than before. Since being ill earlier in the year, the emotions are big and sometimes uncontrollable — and this little project almost took me out. Truly… almost out of the hobby.
