It was 1980- something. Halloween. Best time ever!!!

Do you remember the pillowcases and pumpkins? Remember those horrible plastic masks that everyone had?

Do you remember what it felt like during the day waiting on dusk to fall?

Do you remember your dad dressing up too and holding your coats?

Welcome to 1980’s Halloween Moth Style!!!

Most of the time that I am walking through my days (they are BUSY!!!), I start thinking about What God would say to me in these moments.

I adore Doris' gratefulness posts on Sundays, but today I got a double whammy - What God spoke to me.

The devil will never interrupt the plans, man makes - he will only try and stand in the way of God's blessings.

I don't know of many who are not fighting for the life of their businesses, but I do know we are die hard committed to a dream no one else has, or a product many cannot make, or a hope for a future built for a generation.

Dave Ramsey said - Life like no one else, so you can life like no one else.

All of the hours of sweating over a stove, designing until you can no longer see lines straight, sweating over a hot press, crocheting and knitting until blisters harden, when your table has more modge podge than lacquer will not be in vain.

Fall in Arizona is right around the corner, and so are the customers, friends, and fellow vendors who will remind you of your work. Who will remember you. Ones who will give you peace in slow days, and ones who will do the most vital thing a vendor can - watch your booth when you have to make a quick run!

So many of us are just starting out, figuring things out. Finding our way.

The devil cannot remove what God has designated and designed for us.

For those of us riding with Doris and Soulfully Crafted Market this season, remember to write down what we see and feel. This market will be one of the premier markets in the valley. When you create for PURPOSE, success is waiting for you at the finish line.

We will get there!

Sunday Gratitude

Almost Time

For years I held a dream inside,
A quiet hope I could not hide.
A place where handmade hearts could meet,
Where art and community shared one street.

For months I've watched that dream take form,
Through peaceful days and every storm.
Through permits, plans, and sleepless nights,
Through countless prayers that things go right.

I've researched, written, changed, begun,
Then changed again when I wasn't done.
I've built and planned and learned each day,
And prayed for God to guide the way.

There have been laughter, joy, and tears,
And moments nearly ruled by fears.
So many questions crossed my mind:
Will people come? What will we find?

Will vendors love this place we make?
Will others see the chance we take?
Will customers feel what I can see?
Will this become what it's meant to be?

I cannot know what lies ahead,
Or answer every fear I've fed.
But somewhere through each doubtful day,
Something beautiful came my way.

Someone said yes. And then one more.
And suddenly, hope walked through the door.
People who didn't know my name
Still saw the vision just the same.

They placed their trust into my hands
And chose to walk beside my plans.
We're building friendships. We're building trust.
We're building something made from us.

A place where someone's work is seen,
Where handmade means more than it seems.
Where neighbors gather, makers shine,
And separate dreams begin to intertwine.

I don't need hundreds on day one
To know that something has begun.
The biggest dreams can start out small,
With just a few who give their all.

So today I'm grateful for every part—
The easy days and the heavy heart.
The laughter, lessons, tears, and fear,
And every prayer that brought me here.

There is still work. There are butterflies.
There are still questions with no replies.
But something I've carried for years inside
Is almost ready to step outside.

And perhaps that's why these tears arrive...
The dream I've carried is coming alive.

So when those first white canopies rise,
And morning stretches across the skies,
I'll take one moment, breathe, and see...
What once was my dream has become our community. 💚

Have a beautiful and blessed Sunday, my friends.

To all of my customers who have made purchases, I am so thankful for you! You are the reason we keep going and designing and creating.

While your purchases are so important, your reviews are even more so. I have NEVER gotten a poor review on my color and sublimation before. Every customer who has purchased from me in real life loves what I do.

Unfortunately, online retail is not as kind. One person who bought two boards, but did not like them and wanted me to send her two MORE boards gave me a horrible 1 star review... twice on my Etsy page. Using one small picture she gave me two 1 star reviews, both of them written in just about the same message.

It took a perfect 5 star rating down to 3.6. I have begged and pleaded for my customers to share their reviews of my product to no avail (thank you to the ones that have before on Etsy!), but truly we cannot do just shows, and I cannot fight the opinions of others with anything but the truth.

I NEED YOUR HELP!! I know the kind of work that I do, but I need others to know to in order to be trusted.

PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU! If you have purchased from me - go to Etsy and leave a review! I have refined just about everything on my shop to show actual photos in good and bad light and re-wrote just about everything to be even MORE specific.

It takes just a moment, but the results are long lasting. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I know with the truth I can overcome this!

When you are a small or micro business reviews are the heart beat of your business.

I just had two very negative reviews from one customer that took my 5 star standing on Etsy down to 3.6. I tried tit do everything that I could to appease this customer - with the excepted of sending an additional 2 boards for free. I honestly was shocked as what I have on my shop is what you get and she wanted it to be darker.

If you sublimate on glass you know to get the darkest colors you must double print and press firmly on glass. All of my photos are real and true.

These two reviews have destroyed my rating, and I need your help.

One negative review can wipe out all the good work you do. I have NEVER received a complaint on the color or press and it took me by surprise.

If you have made a purchase from me and enjoyed my work, please take some time to leave a review on my Etsy store.

Also remember how impactful reviews are for small businesses! Good reviews are the lifeblood of our businesses and knowing that there is not some invisible corporation behind that, but an owner who is pouring their blood sweat and tears.

Even if you NEVER bought anything from me, go through the people you have a give them a review. It helps so much to validate to others and the artisan that they are seen!!
