A little personal story today… I started Go Green Fine Interiors because I truly believe you shouldn’t have to choose between a beautiful home and a healthier one.

For years, I struggled with allergies and sensitivities, which made me look at interiors differently. I started paying attention not just to how a room looked, but how it felt, what it was made of, how it affected the air, the light, the energy, and the way people moved through it.

That perspective became the heart of my work. ❤

Now I’m opening a very small number of founding client spots for my new virtual interior design experience.

This is for homeowners who want more than a pretty mood board.

It’s for you if you want a home that feels:
calmer,
healthier,
more intentional,
more beautiful,
and more supportive of the way you actually live.

This virtual experience is designed for busy homeowners who want professional design guidance, but need a flexible process that can happen from anywhere.

I’m selecting up to 3 founding clients.

Applications close June 26.

If this sounds like you - or someone you know - send me a message and I’ll share the details. Applications close June 26.

I’d be so grateful if you shared this with someone who has been wanting design help but needs a flexible virtual option. ☺

What Summer Heat Is Actually Doing to Your Indoor Air...

Summer in Wilmington doesn't ease into the room. It arrives, and your home feels it immediately.

The windows stay closed to keep the AC running. The air gets heavy. And if your space doesn't have the right elements working with it, that closed-up feeling doesn't go away no matter how low you set the thermostat.

As I stepped outside this morning and felt that Wilmington summer heat hit me, I started thinking about what that same heat is doing inside our homes.

What most people don't realize is that the stuffiness isn't just a humidity problem. It's a design problem. The materials in your space, your furniture, your finishes, even your flooring, all of them interact with the air around you. Synthetic materials trap heat and hold pollutants in. And in a sealed summer home, those pollutants just keep circulating.

This is where biophilic design quietly does something remarkable.

When I bring living plants into a space intentionally, not just as decoration but as part of the design itself, they start working. They filter airborne compounds that come off synthetic furnishings. They regulate humidity through a natural process called transpiration, releasing just enough moisture to balance the dry pull of air conditioning. Some research shows they can remove up to 87% of common household air pollutants. And they do it without a filter you have to replace or a machine that runs up your energy bill.

I pair that with non-toxic, sustainably sourced materials that don't add to what your air is already carrying. Because there is no point inviting nature in if everything around it is off-gassing.

The result is a room that actually breathes. One that feels cool and calm even when it's 92 degrees outside and the humidity is sitting heavy on everything.

Your home should be your exhale at the end of a long summer day. Not another thing that makes you feel drained.

What does your space feel like right now in this heat? I'd genuinely love to know.😁

What Separates a $5K Office Refresh From a $25K One?

When most people come to me asking about a commercial office refresh, the first thing they want to talk about is budget. And I get it, I really do. But here's what I've learned after years of doing this work: the price difference between a $5K office and a $25K office isn't really about the furniture.

It's about what's behind the decisions.

A lower-budget refresh usually means grabbing whatever's available, fast. Particle board with a laminate finish. Mass-produced pieces shipped from overseas. Fabrics treated with chemicals you'd never want your team breathing in eight hours a day.
A thoughtful, investment-level space? That's where we slow down. We talk about how the room actually gets used. We talk about the people sitting in it every day and how the space affects how they feel at work. We talk about materials that are durable, non-toxic, and locally sourced when possible.

I had the privilege of working on a government office space here in Wilmington not too long ago. What made it special wasn't the price point. It was the solid red oak sourced from a local craftsman, the non-toxic stain, the performance fabric chosen because that team needed something that could hold up to real, daily use. The room felt like it was built for the people in it, because it was.

That's the difference. Intention.

If you've ever looked at your office and thought "something just feels off but I can't put my finger on it," I'd love to hear what you're noticing.

Drop it in the comments or message me.

Sometimes just naming it is the first step. 😉

Hey friends! I get this question almost every single week: "Judy, I love your work but I wish I could work with you from my area." And honestly? That's been on my mind too.

Here's the thing; sustainable interior design shouldn't be limited by zip codes. Whether you're in Wilmington or somewhere completely different, you deserve spaces that feel good, look beautiful, and actually align with how you want to live.

We've been working behind the scenes on something I'm really excited about, and I can't wait to share it with you. Something is coming to Go Green Fine Interiors, and it's going to change how we think about working together on your home.

Designing nationwide... Coming Soon... 06.08.2026

Quick question for you though, what's been holding you back from redesigning that one room or space you've been thinking about? Is it the distance, the overwhelm, or something else? Drop a comment and let me know. Your answer actually helps shape what we're creating.
