Indulge in the warm, comforting flavors of homemade Bread Pudding topped with a luscious Vanilla Sauce. Perfect for any occasion! 🍞✨
Ingredients:
- 6 cups cubed day-old bread (French bread or brioche)
- 4 cups milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk (for vanilla sauce)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup sugar (for vanilla sauce)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon butter (for vanilla sauce)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for vanilla sauce)
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a casserole dish.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
3. Gently fold in the cubed bread along with the melted butter until everything is well combined.
4. Pour the enticing bread mixture into your prepared casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
5. Pop it in the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until you see a golden brown top and the custard is set just right.
6. While the bread pudding is baking, let’s whip up that heavenly vanilla sauce! In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, heavy cream, sugar, cornstarch, and butter. Whisk continuously until it thickens up beautifully.
7. Once thickened, remove it from heat and fold in the vanilla extract for that extra flavor boost.
