But what happened out there tonight?
That was disgraceful.
Not hard hockey.
Not playoff hockey.
Disgraceful.
And the worst part? Everybody saw it happening — and nobody stopped it.
When a player goes for the puck, people know the difference. Players know the difference. Coaches know the difference. Officials sure as hell should know the difference.
But when someone abandons the play completely and launches himself straight into a man with no intention of touching the puck, that’s not instinct.
That’s intent.
That’s deliberate.
