Step back in time with this beautiful, authentically aged antique triangular cheese keeper, crafted by the renowned Franz Anton Mehlem factory in Bonn, Germany.

A true testament to late-Victorian craftsmanship, this piece features a wedge-shaped cloche bell adorned with an elegant molded optic swirl pattern and a sculpted, faux-bamboo branch handle.

This piece carries a wonderful historical patina that storytellers, antique collectors, and lovers of rustic farmhouse decor will deeply appreciate. The natural darkening, heavy glaze crazing, and staining on the platter ground it in its true vintage utility.

While it shows its long life through its wear, the structural bell remains fully intact and ready to grace a holiday display, a historical kitchen counter, or a curated china cabinet shelf.

Condition:

This antique set is sold AS-IS, reflecting over a century of age and functional history.
Bell / Lid: Intact with no structural cracks. The bamboo handle is sturdy and secure.
Platter / Base: Exhibits significant vintage character, including heavy all-over crazing and characteristic time-worn staining/browning.
Edges: A few distinct chips are present at the corner points of the under-tray platter.
Gilding: The original gold trim along the borders and handle accents shows notable fading and wear from decades of gentle handling.

Dimensions:
Length: 9 inches
Width: 9 inches
Height: 6.5 inches

A fabulous decorative piece for antique and vintage lovers, store and or shelf display. It still has a good life ahead of itself, a testament of the porcelain quality one expects from Royal Bonn, Germany.

Add a touch of elegant vintage glamour to your collection with this charming pair of unmarked screwback earrings. Dating to the late 1930s or early 1940s, these feature classic guilloché enamel centers with delicate floral, perfect for everyday wear or special occasions.

Style: Screwback closures (great for those with non-pierced ears or who prefer secure vintage style)
Era: Late 1930s–early 1940s (unmarked, as was common for many quality costume pieces of the period)
Size:
Condition: really good vinrage condition with no enamel chip or damaged metal.

About Guilloché Enamel:
Guilloché (pronounced gee-oh-SHAY) is a luxurious decorative technique that combines intricate mechanical engraving with translucent enamel for a shimmering, almost glowing effect. The process involves:
Using specialized engine-turning lathes (like the rose engine) to carve precise, repetitive patterns—such as waves, ripples, sunbursts, or geometric designs—into the metal base. This creates a textured "canvas" visible through the enamel.

Applying multiple layers of finely ground colored glass (enamel powder) over the engraved pattern.

Firing the piece in a kiln at high temperatures to fuse the enamel, resulting in a smooth, glassy surface where the underlying guilloché pattern shines through with depth and iridescence.

Popular in the late 19th and early-to-mid 20th centuries (especially in European and American costume jewelry), guilloché enamel gives pieces a refined, high-end look reminiscent of Fabergé creations but accessible in wearable vintage form. These 1940s examples capture the era’s love for feminine florals and colorful, light-catching designs.

These earrings are a lovely example of mid-century craftsmanship—lightweight, eye-catching, and full of vintage charm. They would pair beautifully with both casual and dressy outfits.
