Save these tips if you’re planning a trip to Vienna + Prague with a travel buddy. ✈️
Vienna Highlights:
-Book a double room and request that they create 2 twin beds. has nespresso in the room and is centrally located.
-Hit the museums for art, jewelry, coins, militaria, etc. The rich history is so interesting to see up close.
-Check out Mozart’s apartment to see the city from his view. There’s not really any furniture in the apartment, but the information there is really interesting to see and read about his life.
-You must try authentic Weiner Schnitzel in Vienna. Our fav- the world famous
-Book an 8:30pm classical concert at St. Peter’s Church and listen to the greats like Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, etc. One of the highlights of the whole trip!
Prague Highlights:
- was a great modern hotel with twin beds. Rooms are sparse, but the breakfast buffet was incredible. Nespresso in the room.
-Visit the world’s oldest astronomical clock and watch it chime at the top of the hour.
-Book a culinary experience with and then finish off the evening with a stroll along the Vltava River to see the Charles Bridge, built in the 1300s
-Take a day trip from Prague to Trosky Castle, Prachov Rocks, and Kutna Hora medieval town. It’s a full on day and not for the meek if you never exercise. I had to do extra prepping with the stair master before the trip and paced myself throughout the day.🤪 It was a bit strenuous, but totally worth it.
-Book with Jaromir via - totally worth it to have a private driver for the day.
Other items worth noting:
-We took the train from Vienna to Prague (4.5hrs). Book the “relax” car for more comfortable seats.
-We felt completely safe in both Vienna & Prague. The cities were clean and we did not see very many pickpockets.
-Tipping culture is not really a thing. However, some restaurants will tack on a “service charge” once they find out you’re American. Push back on that or just leave a minimal tip.
-Always charge your CC in the local currency to avoid double exchange fees. Don’t ever pay in $US.
