The end to the most perfect trip! 🌺

Breathing life into this iconic Rainbow Row home alongside@saraanninteriors. A true collaboration from start to finish, and one of the most rewarding install days.

There is something deeply satisfying about working on a home with this much history. Every room asked us to slow down, to honor what was already there, and to layer in the kind of details that make a space feel like it has always been this way. A beautifully restored plaster medallion. An antique crystal chandelier, rewired and ready for another century of dinners and quiet mornings. Fresh florals at the sink. Hand towels folded just so. The thousand small decisions that no one sees individually, but that together are the difference between a pretty room and a room that actually feels like home.

Rainbow Row has a way of pulling you in. You think you know it from the outside, those familiar pastel facades that have been photographed a million times. Then you step inside one of these homes and remember how much life has happened here, how many hands have shaped these walls, how much care it takes to bring it forward into the present without losing any of what made it special in the first place.

Sara Ann and I poured ourselves into this one. The reveal is coming soon, and I cannot wait to share it.

The details are starting to come together, and this is one of my favorite stages of a project. The bones are set, the big decisions are behind us, and now we're in the quieter work of layering in everything that makes a house actually feel like home.

The new stair runner is in, and the carpet in the living area is down. Both are doing exactly what good flooring should do, which is to set the tone without stealing the show. Texture underfoot, warmth underneath everything else, and a quiet foundation for all the layers still to come.

We also swapped out the spindles. The originals were cheap metal, completely out of step with the age and character of the house. Replacing them was one of those changes that doesn't shout, but it dramatically elevates the entire staircase and brings it back in line with the architecture.

I can't wait to show you how this ties in with the rest of the design. For now, a little preview of what's ahead.

Charleston is full of beautiful things, but the American College of the Building Arts might be one of the most remarkable and quietly extraordinary institutions in the city. It's the only accredited college in the country offering degrees in the traditional building trades, and walking through the studios reminds you just how rare and important that is.

Stone carving, timber framing, architectural carpentry, forged iron, plaster, masonry. The kind of craftsmanship that built this city, and the kind that's increasingly rare anywhere else. Every carving begins as a drawing. Every tool has its place. Students are trained not just in technique but in the history and language of architecture itself, the same knowledge that restores Charleston's historic buildings and shapes new ones with integrity.

As a designer, I think about craft constantly. The hands behind a carved cornice, the skill in a forged hinge, the care in a plaster ceiling. To know there's a place in Charleston dedicated to keeping those trades alive, and training the next generation to practice them, feels like something worth celebrating.

Green is having a moment in my world right now, and I am fully on board.

There's something about this range of greens that feels grounded and alive at the same time, soft enough to read almost neutral in morning light and deep enough to turn a room into a retreat by evening.

A great green is one of the hardest-working colors you can put on a wall. It plays with light the way blue does but brings more warmth, it flatters antiques, it makes white trim sing, and depending on what you pair it with it can feel classic or completely modern.

Swipe through for a little green moodboard. A mix of recent finds, projects, and pieces that have been catching my eye. A few favorites in the bunch: Mrs. Alice's Charlotte green and brown placemats and napkins are the perfect mix of preppy and earthy. The Jaipur Fantaisie from Schumacher is such a dreamy painterly print. And Clarence House Velours Irelande is the kind of green velvet that instantly elevates a room.

What green do you keep coming back to?
