Honored to have served as a design ambassador for the 2025 What’s New What’s Next at the New York Design Center !!

200 Lex was transformed into a dynamic hub of design energy, we explored the trends shaping the future, discovered exciting new product launches, and engaged with some of the brightest voices in our field.

I told myself that when I started my business, I no longer would have to follow a strict corporate playbook. How I connected with potential clients, peers and industry leaders would be authentic.

As my incredible friend Bre would say, “This isn’t a Poor Me story, it’s a Me Too declaration”. I’m not a victim. I went through what I went through to become better on the other side. This past Sunday my pastor reminded us that the enemy will trick us into thinking we are all alone. It’s a lie!

I am officially three years into my healing journey. I told myself, I might share my story one day, but God said share it now. Becoming is not a destination. I’m still becoming but with greater purpose and serving in a stronger sense of self.

Life is about making sacrifices and I thought bad circumstances only happened to people who made poor choices. I was naive in that way of thinking. I followed all of the rules but trying to lead this life of striving soley for money and status isn’t how God wants to use us.

My vision, drive and goals with my business are focused on helping others and utilizing my gifts. I strive for excellence in more meaningful ways! I find solutions within my client’s budget to ensure they receive the best quality. I also now have an immense amount of empathy which allows me to better serve.

Now I pray with my clients, I am vulnerable with my peers and I work with my industry partners to solve those intangible challenges.

The me I am today is light years ahead of who I was. I’m far from perfect and I’m so very thankful!

Our philosophy continues to ring true. Creating a space solely on our client’s needs.

Client’s Design Need:
They requested a dining space where meaningful conversation could unfold over candlelight or morning coffee. In addition, serve as a place to be inspired and work on their laptop during the day. The client desired a space that felt intimate, layered, and elevated—less traditional, more timeless.

BBD Solution:
Creating a multi functional dining room, lending it self to the notion that design can feel bold without being loud. We created a calming retreat that was sultry for dinner yet invigorating for morning coffee and workflow. The goal was to integrate soulful materials and artisan accents into a room that feels both grounded and luxurious.

Tuesday Testimonials is Here!

What better way to kick start our Tuesday Testimonials for the month of September is a DESIGN REVEAL entitled Rooted Refinement. Each of our projects are truly special to us and we are delighted our clients feel the same way!

Designed for a client with a deep appreciation for world culture and understated elegance, this redesign tells a story of elevated intention.

Selecting an interior designer is more about selecting a partner who can embody your feelings and journey to capture the essence of who you are. When I met my client, they were entering a new chapter of downsizing and found it frustrating on how to incorporate all of their things into a new space. We took the time to understand where they were at in life, gave them the space to live and breathe in that and ultimately brought out the best in their space.

While some of their rooms required a complete reset like this one, others simply needed a refresh. We like to strike a beautiful balance when needed.

Trust isn’t given, it’s earned. We earned their trust as they worked to find the best designer for them, which was us.

With Tiffany Brown being a self taught first-generation female entrepreneur herself, she wanted to honor Barbara’s story by supporting a charity that empowers the next generation of leaders—Stiletto Boss University, led by Jania Massey.

SBU is all about equipping young leaders in middle and high school, with the tools to become entrepreneurs. They learn leadership, business skills, and the power of building community while creating their own small businesses.
