White designers—if you see an event at Market centered on Black design or the African Diaspora, please go in.

Not as diversity homework.
As a designer.

Because your sourcing library shapes what your clients ever get the opportunity to see.

There is a real representation gap in this industry. But that has never meant a lack of talent. It has meant a lack of visibility, relationship-building, specification, and repeat sourcing inside the larger design conversation.

So if your Market route is the same showrooms every single year, expand it.

Walk into spaces built around Black design.
Meet the makers.
Ask how it’s made.
Ask about trade pricing.
Ask about lead times.
Learn the materials.
Learn the references.
Learn the names.

A wider design vocabulary makes you a better designer.

And if you’re wondering whether you’re “supposed” to go in—yes.
Come learn.

3.5 million people reached in the first 30 days of sharing The Closed Loop Home. 🤎

I knew this idea mattered to me. I did not know how many of you were waiting for someone to say, “Maybe the problem isn’t you. Maybe the environment could be carrying more.”

Every share, save, comment, DM, preorder, “I thought I was the only one,” and story about the way you actually live has made this feel bigger than a book launch.

It feels like a conversation we were overdue for.

Thank you for listening, sharing your homes with me, challenging old rules, and helping The Closed Loop Home reach people I could never have reached on my own.

And we’re only getting started. ✨

📖 The Closed Loop Home releases October 31.

Its been so fun seeing so many people imitate this photo that’s been the top performing one on my Pinterest for this year. I am shocked to see some people even say it is an office of their design firm or claim it is from work of theirs. This is simply an ai generated image created to showcase the growing trend of patterned sofas in 2026 design trends. Don’t you love it though it’s just dreamy

That little girl watching trading spaces in her blue bedroom is so proud of who she became.

I designed my entire interior design business around my neurodivergent brain… and I did most of it before I knew I was neurodivergent.

Over time, I naturally started removing friction from the traditional design process.

Fewer meetings where I would lose focus and forget info.
Less driving from showroom to showroom.
More communication through email and video.
A virtual process that lets me deeply study a space without having to physically be inside it.

My clients can scan their home with an app, and I use those measurements to recreate the actual space in 3D — walls, windows, doors, ceiling heights and all.

Then I design inside that model using the real dimensions of the furniture and products I’m considering.

I can test the layout, clearances, sightlines and flow before anything is purchased.

And now I bring the Closed Loop lens into that process too:

Where do you naturally land?
What are you constantly getting back up for?
Where does a routine keep breaking?
What could your environment carry for you instead?

I still go to furniture market twice a year to sit on the furniture, touch the materials, open the drawers, meet the vendors and make sure I feel confident about what I’m specifying.

So yes, I can design a home I’ve never physically stepped inside.

And you can see the entire thing before you start making it real.

I’m opening a very limited number of virtual design projects through application right now.

I’m excited to officially begin preparing the Fall 2026 edition of the HPMKT Coloring Book of Interiors.

The Spring edition transformed real showroom imagery into custom coloring pages and combined them with Market resources, designer notes and vibe-based reflection tools. Every available copy was distributed, and several participating brands requested additional books after seeing how designers engaged with them throughout Market.

That response is shaping the next edition.

For Fall, I’m developing an expanded designer companion that will continue to feature real showroom environments while introducing more interactive discovery tools, Vibe Curator insights and opportunities for brands to connect their products with the way a space is experienced—not simply how it looks.

Thank you to the brands that supported the Spring edition and trusted this new format. Fall 2026 participation information will be available shortly, and I’m looking forward to building the next chapter.
