Sometimes one corner tells you everything you need to know about a room.

I love the mix happening here. The warm wood, mural wallcovering, sculptural mirror, collected pieces, and reflection of this iconic chandelier all add their own layer. These vignettes are some of my favorites to design.

An engineering nightmare that our artisans hated us for 😂 But I’d say it was worth it.

This custom tub surround was one of those ideas that looked great on paper and proved a little more complicated in ex*****on. The curved form, fluted marble, and surrounding stone required an incredible amount of precision, but the finished result became one of my favorite details in the home.

Sometimes the hardest details are the ones you remember most.

London, one last time. 🇬🇧✨

Part III of our London retreat with , and a beautiful finale to an unforgettable few days.

From dinner at Gordon Ramsay’s Lucky Cat, 52 floors above London with panoramic city views, to the extraordinary collections at the V&A East Storehouse, every moment offered something new to discover. The David Bowie and Frank Lloyd Wright rooms, alongside the remarkable textiles by Anni Alberts, were especially inspiring.

We called Hotel Number Sixteen, designed by Kit Kemp, home during our stay. And perhaps one of the most special moments of all was the privilege of sitting down and chatting with Kit herself, a designer whose creativity and perspective are truly inspiring.

Beyond the places, the design, and the experiences, it was the wonderful people and new friendships that made this trip so memorable.

A little more London to remember. 🤍

Dinner party season is almost here, and I’m ready for it.

I’ve always loved designing dining rooms because there are so many ways to approach them. Rich color and velvet, something a little more glamorous, walls of windows and natural light, or a quieter room where the lighting gets to have some fun.

Four dining rooms, four completely different personalities. Which table are you pulling up a chair to this fall?

I don’t think I chose interior design. I think it found me.

Long before interior design became my career, I was fascinated by floor plans, moving furniture around with my mom, and seeing how a space could completely change with a few thoughtful decisions.

My dad was a builder, so design was always around me in some way. But it wasn’t the path I originally took.

I spent years in New York as a performer, traveling, living the Gypsy life, and seeing the world. Eventually, I knew I wanted to put down roots and return to the other thing I had always felt passionate about: design.

So I went back to school for interior design in New York, and eventually found my way back home to Charlotte, NC.

Sometimes the path makes sense only once you look back. ✨

Our moody contemporary powder room for a new construction project in Charlotte. I incorporated a ceiling mount faucet fixture with lever mounted on the custom inset antique mirror. The fabulous floating marble vanity and full wall splash took a bit of engineering to keep the depth of the mirror flush with the depth of the marble. We also used a Mark Alexander | The Romo Group natural wall covering to add texture and warmth.
Our bachelor client appreciated the sophistication mixed with a masculine vibe. We were thrilled with the outcome!

London, through a designer’s lens. 🇬🇧

Part I of the retreat took us behind the doors of some of London’s most fascinating spaces, where design, history, and craftsmanship take center stage.

From a private tour of .house to the craftsmanship of Lock & Co. Hatters, a behind-the-scenes look at Christie’s Auction House, and a private visit to , built in 1610, every stop offered a closer look at the details that make London so enduring.

And, of course, an exclusive visit to the Christopher Farr Cloth showroom to experience the collection firsthand.

A few days spent looking at London a little differently.

So fun to be included in the latest issue of Charlotte Home Design & Decor, especially with a little peek inside my own home.

They featured my music room, which really is one of my favorite spaces. It’s where we play the Steinway, listen to music, read, relax, and usually have Giorgi right there with us.

The most extraordinary week long retreat in London hosted by Christopher Farr Cloth
The itinerary was non stop from morning as well as afternoon events to fabulous lunches and dinners! I will be sharing more of this impactful experiences to come in the following days.
