Many (and I do mean many) years ago, my best friend and I loved to stay after school and help the teacher clean the chalk board. First, she would let us draw on it for a little while...stick figures, hearts, and other silly things.
Now, I have a wall "chalk board" in my pottery studio, and I still like to doodle on it, write myself notes, and make plans for future pots. Some things never grow old.

I've reached the age where birdwatching has become my new morning routine. This morning I saw a Bluejay, Cardinal, sparrows, Towhees, and lots of Grackles, plus a couple of Phoebes. A sparrow made a quick visit, in and out, of the studio yesterday. It must be a sign for me to do more pots with bird adornments.

Just lying around dreaming of Spring flowers and Summer days, when the pots can sit on the step outside the studio and dry enough to trim within a few minutes.

I'm hoping the weekend predictions for snow do not materialize; however, the cold temp in itself makes me worry about all of the little outdoor animals. Please help provide shelter and food for them if at all possible :) Stay warm and stay safe!

My sweet grandson gave me these beautiful flowers at Christmas. They are just beginning to show their age, and I can totally relate to that! Taking time away from pottery has made me a wee bit lazy, so now it's time to get back to it! Spring will be here, and we'll need new flower vases, berry bowls, and yes, maybe even a new mug or two. What is it they say?... Out with the old, in with the new!

Brrrr...I'm trying to think of reasons to like Winter and the cold weather it brings and these thoughts come to mind... hot chocolate, coffee, cozy blankets, and well, that's about it! Oh, but I forgot to mention no spiders or snakes. :). Stay warm and enjoy these special days during the Christmas season!
