“Drag Tree”
I have a work in progress to share for your entertainment.
I create a form as a base for my sculpture. I use cardboard, reuse plastic containers or lids, or cut offs from cording, wire, whatever works. To cover, I use a knotting technique (micro-macramé) and crochet or sewing.
I usually work with the sculpture standing up but many times I want to start at the bottom and work my way up. I have devised different ways to accomplish that; laying the form down on the macramé board, leaning on a foam wedge, or on my lap.
Today the branches of this tree were not cooperating, even though they are flexible. So I found a way to overcome this. As you can see in the video, it worked!

“Pretending Spring”
11”h X 5”
Waxed cording, wire, glass beads, all created around the cardboard core tube from the waxed cording. I use micro-knotting and crochet. Because of the inter wire, the stems can be bent carefully to arrange differently. The stems are crocheted into the vase.

I have not posted in a long time but have continued to experiment and create. I think I needed to step back for a while. However, I have done my best to keep up with all of your posts.
Now, I am ready to show off what's been happening in the studio.
