Raw Realities of Parenting

Raw Realities of Parenting Real strategies for real parents raising difficult teens.

I am formerly a therapeutic foster parent and mentor who teaches overwhelmed moms how to restore peace, structure, and respect in their home without chaos, guilt, or giving up.

Drove through my old neighborhood today and didn't expect it to hit me the way it did.
Every corner had a memory. The house. The block. The little things I used to do with my parents that felt so normal back then — and now feel like treasures.
Both of them are gone now. And standing there, I just... missed them. Like, really missed them.
But sitting in that moment, something else hit me too — that neighborhood, those experiences, those parents... that's where all of THIS started.
Every value I hold. Every lesson I pass on to the teens I mentor. Every late night pouring into someone else's kid like they're my own. It all traces back to what my parents poured into me, even when I didn't realize they were doing it.
That's why I work so hard at this. That's why "Fiercely Changing the Game" exists. I'm not just mentoring — I'm passing forward everything my parents gave me, to kids who need it just as much as I did.
It's wild how a place can hold so much of someone, even when they're not here anymore.
Grateful for the time I had. Grateful for the foundation they gave me. And grateful that their legacy gets to live on through every young person I get to pour into.
If you've lost a parent — or both — you already know this feeling. And maybe, like me, you've found a way to let their love keep working through you. 🤍

This week was not easy. Parenting never is. But you showed up anyway. You loved anyway. You tried again anyway.
Maybe the week ended with a win.
Maybe it ended with a slammed door and unanswered texts.
Maybe somewhere in between.
But you are still here.
Still standing.
Still believing your home can be better.
That is a win mama. Don't let anybody — including yourself — tell you otherwise.
Rest this weekend. Refuel. Breathe.
Because next week you get to try again. Drop a 🙌🏽 if you made it through this week — you deserve to celebrate that tonight.

I'm posting this video because it perfectly explains why I do what I do. 🙏🏾
This lady walked into the break room and just started talking to me about her daughter — and I don't even know her. 😂 But I'm here for it every single time.
Parents open up to me in public like they already know me. Like something in them just recognizes a safe space. And I don't take that lightly.
This is one of those quiet confirmations God sends me when I need to be reminded that this calling is real. The brand, the advocacy, all of it — it's not just something I chose. It chose me. 🖤
If parents who don't even know me feel safe enough to share their hearts in a break room, imagine what's possible when we build a real community around this. 👇
💬 Has a stranger ever opened up to you out of nowhere? Drop it in the comments — I want to hear it.

This is for the Not so perfect mom❣️

Last week may have been hard. 👇
Maybe you said something you wish you could take back.
Maybe you and your teen went to bed without making things right.
Maybe you just felt like you were failing more than you were winning.
Can I remind you of something tonight?
His mercies are new every morning. 🙏🏽
That means last week does not define this week.
That argument does not define your relationship.
That moment does not define who you are as a mom.
Tomorrow you wake up and you get a brand new chance.
Not to be perfect —
But to show up again.
To try again.
To love again.
New week. New mercy. New opportunity. 🤍
Drop a 🙏🏽 if you're stepping into this week with fresh faith — and share this with a mom who needs a reset tonight.

They may not say thank you right now. 🤍
They may roll their eyes.
Slam the door.
Walk past you like you're invisible.
But mama — they see you.
They see you showing up when it's hard.
They see you trying again after a bad day.
They see you loving them even when they make it difficult.
They may not have the words for it yet.
But one day they will.
Keep going. 🙏🏽

This one is for the girl who knows she was made for more. 👇
You do not have to be a product of your environment.
Let me say that again — because somebody needs to hear it today.
Where you came from does not determine where you are going. The neighborhood. The household. The school. The friend group. The circumstances that were never your choice — none of that gets to write the ending of your story.
But here's what I need you to do.
Start acting like you are already her.
The girl you dream of becoming? Start walking like her. Start talking like her. Start making decisions like her. She doesn't wait to feel ready — she moves anyway. She doesn't wait for her environment to change — she becomes the change.
That means some people have to stay behind. And that's okay.
Not everyone is assigned to your next chapter. Some friendships were only meant for a season. Some spaces were only meant to show you what you didn't want for your life. Let them go with love — and keep moving forward.
Protect your peace. Protect your focus. Protect your vision.
Because the girl you are becoming is depending on the choices you make right now. 🤍
You are not your circumstances baby girl. You never were.
Now start acting like it. 👑
Drop a 👑 in the comments if you needed this today — or tag a girl who does.
