I have A LOT of work ahead of me over the next couple of weeks and it’s a good chance to ponder the value of actual handmade work compared to all of the machine made products that you see floating around everywhere these days.

Each Never-Wither Botanicals product takes time, skill, patience, creativity and practice to perfect!
Each item has to be designed, thought out, assembled, produced, and inspected.
That’s before all of the work that goes along with running a small business like packaging, branding, labelling, marketing, finding venues, building a display and so on!

A handmade makers production capacity is ultimately limited by their own two hands!
Not by how long we can keep running before needing to be reprogrammed or fed more materials….that’s manufacturing! 🤣

That distinction should matter.

There is something pretty darn satisfying about knowing that every single peice that I put out into the world was designed and created by my own hands!

After-all…that is what handmade means…that is what being a crafter means. 👍💚

Finally got a small banner to hang on the back of my canopy!
I also replaced that blue cover with a much nicer black one so now my set up looks much more intentional! 👍🖤

Apparently this is going to be a big event…or at least I hope it is as big of a turnout as what they are hoping for! 👍😂
I will be vendor #76 out of the 96 VENDORS that will be in attendance!!! 🤯
I’ve been to some bigger events over the past few years where there has been a lot of us set up…. but this one may have the most vendors at any event that I’ve done so far!

Tomorrow is market day again and here is just another one of those little things that most people don’t even really take the time to notice.
Most probably won’t even take the time to notice this post. 😂

It’s funny how the “little things” can take you just as much time and effort as the rest of it!

Like right now….I’m sitting here at almost 10:30pm putting individual “Thank You” stickers on each individual bag…AFTER having spent all week making an entirely new stock of seasonal inventory, AFTER getting everything packed into the car when the sun went down…AFTER painting a wooden crate earlier today to use as part of my display!

Because being a small business owner means the job isn’t just about making the stuff I like to make!

It’s packaging them, labeling them, making them look cute and adding all of those little touches that make someone feel like their purchase was truly “worth it”.

Most people don’t notice every little detail…but I do. 😊
And that’s kind of the point I guess.

Now please excuse me while I continue my Friday night activity: STICKER PLACEMENT 🏷️

I love making these feel like something you would stumble upon deep in an enchanted woodland!

An old set of antlers being reclaimed by nature, tangled in a delicate spider web, slowly becoming part of the earth again.

Every strand of web and every petal is carefully beaded by hand, creating an intricate, almost ethereal texture that catches light from every angle!
