Summer asks a lot of a home.

Extra guests, kids coming and going, long afternoons, impromptu dinners, and rooms that suddenly need to work a little harder than usual.

Then school begins, the pace shifts, and there’s finally a moment to look around.

Maybe the kitchen always seemed to have a traffic jam. Maybe the Living Room was perpetually one seat short. Maybe there was a chair everyone had to walk around or curtains the kids caught every time they ran through the room.

Those little observations are worth paying attention to.

Before life gets busy again, take a few minutes to write them down:

• The corner of the island everyone bumped into
• The chair that was always in the way
• The room that never had quite enough seating
• The curtains that caught someone every time they passed

Those everyday moments can be some of the most valuable design feedback you’ll ever have. They tell us not only how your home looks, but how it truly lives, and where thoughtful changes can make the biggest difference.

When establishing a color palette, we often look beyond finishes. In this home, the homeowners' artwork informed the materials, upholstery, and accent colors used throughout the lounge and neighboring living spaces.

Designing with recurring visual references creates continuity without making every room feel the same.
