The object in the image is a vintage wooden lard press (also known as a lard squeezer or crackling squeezer), a primitive farm tool typically dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.

Function and History
Purpose: These tools were essential for rendering lard after a hog butchering. After the pork fat was boiled in large kettles, it was placed in burlap or cloth bags and squeezed with this press to extract the remaining liquid fat
