Ok, it will take awhile to get everything situated
I have:
‼️bits and pieces to mix to make a new color ( #1)
‼️all the leftover slices and little cane ends that can be used in a project ( #2 and #3)
‼️ scraps for various scrap techniques to practice - like natasha beads or stroppel cane ( #4)
‼️ actual scraps to make beads cores or other “inside jobs”. I could potentially leave it for the surface technique but I don’t know…undecided yet.

My thoughts on week 4:
This week I explored different textures and how to create canes imitating them. The goal was to create a coherent “thing” that would utilise the components I made in previous days.

Texture canes have proven to be the easiest so far.
Challenges:
❤️ Although texture itself is very easy to make putting it into a final cane is not that easy. The repetition that canes produce doesn’t give a natural look.
❤️ Texture canes can make an amazing background and bring interest to the final product
❤️ Texture canes are boring. They are not the eye-catcher, which makes them perfect background for something greater.
❤️ when you combine canes featuring various textures you suddenly produce an interesting and organic looking results
💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
I had a project in mind so I my choice of textures was deliberate, but, honestly, even as a pure practice they are worth trying.
I will share the project with you when I finish it. The window is a sneak peek into it.

Week 4 day 7 of “One cane a day” challenge.
This is the last day and the last cane.

Since this week was “Things and textures” its only fair to get all the canes together that I made this week to create a “thing”
Ta-da!!!
It’s a window! Enjoy! (i know I do - it’s exactly how I pictured it)

This is not the end of my journey though - it’s time to take care of all the ends and pieces that I have left after this caning marathon. AAAAND you gotta see what I am going to make with all those canes!

This is day 4 and 5 of “One cane a day” challenge. I created components yesterday, but had to take the cane apart because I didn’t make them right and they didn’t fit well.
I salvaged what I could today, made more components and finally put them together….but the result is highly unsatisfying

I tried to recreate the blue one, didn’t quite get it right, but that’s ok, I never was able to copy someone’s design exactly anyway. Anywho, here’s the result.
