Iโ€™ve been MIA lately.... BUT Iโ€™ve been keeping busy. This week, I started by ripping out all of the trim in our spare room. I absolutely did NOT want to spend the money to buy new trim for this space because ya girl is trying to save ๐Ÿ’ฐ SO instead, I dug through the very large pile of 1x4s at Home Depot and found the best looking lumber I could find. I ended up buying 9 boards, sanded them, and painted them white. I did have to add the quarter round trim to the bottom because of the way this old flooring looked under it but Iโ€™d say it turned out nice for have NO idea what I was doing prior to. Once all of the boards were nailed in, I went over all of the small cracks with caulk and paint.

I also wanted to add a little something to the window frames and we all know how much I love that Early American stain... so, I stained the trim to add a little more of that natural wooden look I have tried to incorporate in every room. The windows have simply become my favorite part of this room. I was also shocked at the fact that I could hang curtain rods (lol). I learn to do more every day and for some reason hanging the rods was my โ€œwow momentโ€ here. I will share before and after pics as I continue to finish the room, but for now enjoy this sneak peek ๐Ÿคซ Time to go build a barn door ๐Ÿšช.

My most recent and one of my absolute favorite transformations... This mirror was hanging on the closet door in my hallway when I bought my home. I took it down and it has been sitting in the back of my closet for over a year. Last week, I pulled it out, added a frame and a little eucalyptus, and now I have this pretty little gem in my bedroom.

Home Depot is selling one very similar to this for $349.99.... I created this for around $15. โœจ๐ŸŒฟ

Hello and welcome to my new page! Here is where I will post all of the DIY projects I have completed and continue to work on daily. Since I purchased my home a year ago, I have found myself falling in love, more and more with DIY projects, interior decorating, and turning old/outdated rooms and pieces of furniture into their own little masterpiece. Being a homeowner and an adult in the middle of a pandemic can be expensive... BUT that doesn't mean your decor has to be. Here you will see all of my hacks and ideas that have turned my little house into a home, on a very friendly budget.
