We decided to do cake for my mom’s birthday, and I ordered from Just Cake It in Oxford for the first time. It was my first time using them, and we were so pleased. I was able to order online which was perfect considering that it is always the middle of the night when I think to do it! I ordered Thursday night for pickup Saturday morning. Pickup was so quick, and the cake was just what I ordered. Finally, the taste was amazing. It was so moist and the flavor of the frosting was so good. Everyone enjoyed it! They keep cupcakes and some cakes in the case everyday for pickup! This may be my new go-to bakery in Oxford, MS! https://justcakeit.net/

We visited Shiloh, TN for Memorial Day weekend and grabbed lunch at Hagy’s Catfish Hotel right on the banks of the Tennessee River! If you are planning a trip to visit the Civil War museum and National Cemetery, this is the perfect spot for lunch! It is literally right around the corner from the entrance. We all had their fried catfish filets which were perfection! The hush puppies for the table were also some of the best I’ve ever had! I somehow missed the photo, but their Cole slaw is freshly chopped and delivered to the table with the sauce to mix in. Delicious!

One of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans has updated their menus, and they look so good! Flamingo A-Go-Go is our go to when we hit the World War 2 museum as it is just up the block! Today we enjoyed brunch with Nutella French toast, scrambled eggs and the pink flamingo pancakes (strawberry flavored and delicious)! This is also a perfect afternoon stop for cocktails as they have a massive shaded patio for lounging!

My mom wanted to find an upscale restaurant in Marshall, TX, and Ginocchio absolutely delivered! From the minute I called to reserve a table for dinner, I knew it would be perfect. The hostess was so sweet in the phone. When we approached the door, the manager opened the door for us and it just rolled in the right direction from there. Our menus and waters were already waiting on the table when we were seated, and the waitress gave us time to settle on drinks. We were served a bread and butter basket along with our wine before we ordered. Everything was cooked to perfection and was served quicker than expected. Waitstaff as well as the manager checked on us and tended to our drinks as needed. The ambiance was also top notch as the restaurant sits right on the train tracks. Amtrak was in the station when we arrived! The restaurant and building date back to 1871 when it was opened as a hotel and restaurant by an Italian-born man. It has been beautifully restored and features a main dining room, a gorgeous bar and an outdoor seating area. Put this on your list if you are in the Marshall area or just traveling I-20!

We’re visiting Marshall and Jefferson, TX this weekend and happened on this wonderful Italian restaurant in downtown Marshall! First of all, the staff was amazing from the hostess to our precious waitress who took such good care of us! The food was on point as well. House made pasta was the star, but everything exceeded expectations. I would go back again and again!

After a long day in the sun, sitting on the shaded deck on the river was a great way to enjoy the evening breeze! Patio Cantina and Grill was so good! The fajitas could not have been better! Chicken and ribeye steak cooked to perfection! The bacon wrapped jalapeño was also a nice touch! Downtown Natchitoches is precious with cute shops and good eats! If you are in the area, don’t miss it!

I love a good festival menu, and this truck was not disappointing. I said about a week ago that I wanted buffalo chicken. This buffalo chicken grilled cheese sandwich hit the spot! Look for this truck at your Louisiana festivals, and give them a try!
