🩷Delta Gamma House Project #2:
Once the plans for the bathroom in the expansion wing were underway, the sorority reached back out to me asking for help in a renovation project that came up very last minute.
Student housing renovation projects typically begin planning in Dec/Jan before the summer when they happen, but they came to me at the end of March for this one. Quite a bit behind schedule making this one more like pulling a rabbit out of a hat.
I came up with a plan within their budget that would give the 10 dorm room bathrooms (14 showers) a serious upgrade/refresh/transformation from what they had currently that could also be accomplished in the short summer time frame.
I assisted the client in reviewing 3 general contractors and selecting one that best fit their needs. I then facilitated the commencement of construction on behalf of the client and worked with the general contractor as the project manager liaison to ensure the best interest of the client was always at the top of the priority list.

🛳️Scope of work:
⚓️Replace current prefab shower surrounds with a more modern solid surface shower solution.
⚓️New tile floors correction slope of floors to drain
⚓️Proper waterproofing for a commercial dormitory application
⚓️Reface and refinish cabinets. Add new cabinet over the toilet.
⚓️New counter tops, sinks, and all new plumbing.
⚓️Yearly facility maintenance task of snaking all drains.
⚓️New mirrors.
⚓️Replace recessed fluorescent lighting with LED lighting
⚓️New bath, cabinet, and shower rod hardware
⚓️Drywall patch and repair
⚓️New paint
⚓️Thorough clean and protection of the whole house during and after construction.

I will share some before & after photos in stories later today. The girls moving in the house this weekend are truly in for a treat!

I’m so excited to share this project with you all. It came from a volunteer opportunity but this kind of work is Sooo me!
While I love to push boundaries in spec home design, nothing unleashes my creativity like spaces that are branded and experiential in nature.
The Delta Gamma sorority at Texas A&M was in the final phases of a building expansion and had some public restrooms in the space that needed a “look” and an identity defined for them. The bathrooms would be off a huge new meeting room that would be a wide open space bathed in one of their signature colors, a neutral light blue. So the bathrooms needed to be a Jewel Box of a space. A place where the girls would not just use on a weekly bases but a place for hair and make up during recruitment, etc. Memories will be made in this bathroom between best friends captured in Instagram moments. This generation loves the granny chic Grand Millennial aesthetic of brands like LoveShackFancy 🎀 . So with that as inspiration, we bathed this room in their other signature color of pink, with a Chinoiserie mural wallpaper and drenched the cabinets and trim in a slightly darker shade. Accented it all in antique versions of gold hardware and a classic grey and white marble look tile floor.
This month’s recruitment week will have this pink room splashed all over the Instagram pages of the Aggie DG women. And we look forward to seeing it all!

I see listings everyday with $10k or more “price improvements”. Often they have not been staged. Just think the money you would have saved spending less than half that “price improvement” on staging instead and getting the property sold faster than the months it’s been waiting for a buyer.
