My Mudd Puddles ... because life is messy! Creating beautiful art out of discarded items. MyMuddPuddles because life is messy!

Crafting beautiful new creations out of old discarded items. Just like every person was created unique, no two of my creations are the same.

For years my mantra was "life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain." We all go through stormy seasons in life. In those times our hearts can become heavy like storm clouds.

As I watched the sunrise this cloudy morning, there were glimpses of light peeking through the clouds until slowly the clouds gave way to a magnificent sunrise. It reminded me of times when life was hard, that I felt like I was walking around in a fog with a very heavy heart. As I fixed my eyes on the light (God and his goodness) the clouds gave way to a beautiful morning.

I noticed that the birds and squirrels came and ate and drank and did not worry, but each day received what they needed for that day. Jesus teaches us to pray, "give us each day our daily bread." That is what he's done for the birds, squirrels, and for me. He gives me what I need for each day. As I fix my eyes on the light and count my blessings, I feel the clouds thinning and the sun shining through full of renewed hope and purpose. The Bible is very clear that God has "plans for me...to give me a hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11) If I seek His goodness and guidance, even in hard times there is peace in my heart and purpose for my future.

Thank you, Lord, for the sunrise.
