Blue Valley Woodworks Maker of Handcrafted home decor accessories. Genuine care, genuine quality. Blue Valley Woodworks. It started with a tree. As does most woodworking.

But not just any tree. A Red Oak planted as a sapling over 50 years ago when I was but a wee youth. As most city-dwelling property owners do when trimming a tree, the branches and leaves head to the curb or the firewood stack. It is said with age comes wisdom. With age also comes a greater appreciation for nostalgia, and for nature. Rather than sending the trimmed branches of this stately connecti

on with my past to the compost pile or the fire pit, a desire arose to find a better purpose for what this tree had grown over several decades. What emerged was a passion to create unique and functional furniture and accessories using the medium of wood. Thus was born Blue Valley Woodworks. Many of our creations use the trimmings of the Red Oak tree from the home of my youth. We also seek out other felled trees from around here to repurpose the larger branches and trunks, preserving the natural edge as much as possible. Aging wood for use in furniture takes time, so we draw from the hardwood purveyor for the larger pieces of maple, mahogany, oak, pecan, and whatever else suits our fancy at the time. The pieces we create and offer are inspired by what we would ourselves use. And we hope you like what you see.
