If you use a rug under your dining table, be sure that the rug is large enough that the chairs will still be on it when they are pulled out--that distance is about 2 1/2- 3 feet from the edge of the table on all sides.

Cottonwood Art festival in Richardson, TX is Oct 1-2. It is one of the best art fests! It reminds me that if you see an artist at an art festival that you like, but do not see exactly what you want displayed, they will usually customize a piece for you at little or no extra cost than the displayed items!

If you move into a home that has a room with an exiting paint color you do not want to change but are not sure how it will go with your colors, pull in a fabric pattern for throw pillows that has both the paint color and your colors. This will pull it all together!

When we begin a kitchen or bathroom remodeling project, we always choose the counter top first because that is the selection with the most specific choices as there are only so many a client will like. However, there are tons of paint and tile selections to choose from so we select those based on the counter top choice.

Keep in mind that if tie back panels are chosen for a window treatment they are not designed for privacy. This means that they are not meant to tie and untie because if they are let down for privacy they will be all wrinkled. However, tie back panels are a nice decorative addition.

One of the least expensive ways to update a powder bathroom is to change the plate glass mirror and put up a decorative mirror that reflects your style.

If there is 12" or less from the top of the window to the ceiling line we can mount a window treatment at the ceiling line (below any molding) if we want to make the ceilings look taller.

Always test a paint color on the wall before buying and look at it in the day and night time after it dries because even a designer cannot tell for sure what the paint store sample on that small piece of paper will look like painted on a wall.

Sometimes rugs can define a conversation area by being placed directly in front of the sofa and other seating and not necessarily all the way under the seating. This can help save money because of the smaller rug size and also expose more of a beautiful wood or tile floor.
